Privacy Policy – EchoMe

Last updated: November 15, 2025

EchoMe (“the App”) is a social voice application that allows users to send short audio messages (“echoes”) to friends. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account & Contact Information: Your email address, name (if you provide it), and a user ID so we can create and manage your EchoMe account.
  • Audio Data: Audio recordings you choose to send. These are temporary and deleted automatically based on app rules.
  • Microphone Access: Required to let you record echoes.
  • Photos or Other User Content: Any photos or other content you upload inside the app.
  • Device & App Information: Basic device data (e.g., device model, OS version, app version, language, time zone) for debugging, security and analytics.
  • Identifiers & Advertising IDs: Device identifiers such as Apple’s IDFA or Google’s Advertising ID, as well as app-specific IDs (for example your Firebase user ID). These are used for analytics, fraud prevention and to measure marketing performance.
  • Firebase Data: We use Firebase services for authentication, messaging, storage and analytics (for example, how often features are used).
  • Crash & Performance Data: Error reports, performance metrics and logs collected via Firebase and similar tools to improve app stability.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To deliver echoes between friends
  • To support streak and challenge features
  • To notify you of new echoes or friend requests
  • To maintain app functionality and user safety
  • To understand how people find and use EchoMe and to measure the performance of our marketing campaigns (for example, whether an ad led to an install).

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the following types of third parties, and only for the purposes described in this Policy:

  • Backend & Infrastructure Providers: Google Firebase (authentication, databases, storage, messaging, analytics, crash reporting and performance monitoring).
  • Analytics & Attribution Partners: Services such as AppsFlyer that help us understand how users discovered EchoMe (for example, which campaign led to an install) and detect fraud.
  • Advertising Platforms: Platforms such as TikTok may receive limited information (like an advertising ID and basic install / event data) via our attribution partner so we can measure the effectiveness of our ads. We do not share your audio content for advertising, and we do not show targeted third-party ads inside EchoMe.
  • Legal & Safety: Law enforcement or other authorities when we are legally required to do so, or when necessary to protect the safety, rights or property of our users or others.

4. Data Retention

  • Echoes are automatically deleted after being heard or expired.
  • Challenge responses are stored temporarily.
  • Firebase user accounts remain until deleted by the user.

5. Your Rights

You can delete your account at any time using the following steps:

  1. Open the EchoMe app.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap “Delete My Account” at the bottom.
  4. Confirm the prompt to permanently remove your account and data.

Once deleted, your profile, login credentials, and associated echoes will be permanently erased. This process cannot be undone.

You may revoke microphone permission in your phone settings.

You may contact us to request data deletion.

6. Advertising & Tracking

On Apple devices, EchoMe may ask for permission to “track” your activity across apps and websites owned by other companies. This permission controls access to your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA).

If you allow tracking, we use the IDFA together with our analytics and attribution partners (for example AppsFlyer and advertising platforms such as TikTok) to:

  • Measure whether an ad campaign led to an app install or certain in-app actions;
  • Detect and prevent fraud or invalid traffic; and
  • Understand which campaigns are effective so we can avoid wasting money on irrelevant ads.

EchoMe does not show personalized third-party ads inside the app based on your EchoMe content.

You can change your tracking choice at any time in your device settings (for example on iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking).

6. Child Safety and CSAE Standards

EchoMe has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). We are committed to protecting users, especially minors, from exploitation or abuse.

In-App Reporting:
EchoMe provides users with the ability to report inappropriate content or behavior using the “More” option in the Friends modal. This includes the ability to flag content related to harassment or potential child safety violations.

Review & Enforcement:
All reports are reviewed promptly. Violations may result in content removal, user account suspension, or escalation to law enforcement as required.

Compliance:
EchoMe complies with applicable laws concerning child safety and cooperates fully with regional and national authorities.

If you have any concerns or wish to report abuse directly, email us at: support@echo-me.app
